National Geographic is bolstering the saleability of preschool series Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies with a trunk load of promotional extras.

The 52 x 11-minute series is a National Geographic Kids Entertainment, CBeebies and King Rollo Films co-production that features the title animated pachyderm and live-action clips of animals in their natural habitat. The series’ reception so far has spurred Nat Geo to create several new short-form adjuncts to the series.

First amongst them is Interactive Monkey Minutes, an eight x 66-second series of interstitials that also mix live action and animation, followed by an eight x 3-minute series of music videos with wraparound animation from the show and a 52 x 15-second slate of promos.

Additionally, the series is getting the full website treatment in the coming weeks with www.mamamirabelle.com, which will feature rich media content aimed at preschoolers including games, video clips and printable activities for both parents and children.
