London-based Chorion’s The Mr. Men Show has found a US broadcast home and co-producer in Cartoon Network.

The kidsnet has signed on to air and co-produce the new 52 x11-minute animated sketch comedy series. Slated to bow in January 2008, Chorion is handling all non-US television and media sales and worldwide licensing and merchandising for the show.

Based on the original Mr. Men and Little Miss books written in the 1970s by Roger Hargreaves, the new series is a re-imagining of a property that has already sold more than 100 million books worldwide.

The series features 25 different Mr. Men and Little Miss characters and will rely on physical comedy to appeal to the four to seven crowd. (For an in depth look check out KidScreen‘s most recent ‘Cool New Shows’ feature.)
