International distributor CAKE has signed a number of new deals with global broadcasters for PBS KIDS’ animated space-themed series Ready Jet Go!

New broadcasters on-board the show from Wind Dancer Films include ABC (Australia), BBC Kids (Canada), Knowledge Network (Canada), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), SIC Television (Portugal), PBS (Thailand) and MBC (the Middle East).

As Ready Jet Go! goes global, production on 24 new half-hour episodes for the show’s second season is underway, along with an hour-long special and a collection of web games and mobile apps.

Aimed at kids ages three to eight, the new content will begin rolling out in the US late next year. A consumer products program including toys, publishing and apparel is also in development.

Since its premiere on PBS KIDS in February, Ready Jet Go! has reached 22 million viewers, including 7.6 million on linear TV. The brand’s content has also been streamed more than 93 million times since January. The show was created by Craig Bartlett (Hey Arnold!, Dinosaur Train) and focuses on astronomy, technology, innovation and invention.
