Digikidz, a subsidiary of Boca Raton, Florida-based PrimEdge, has inked a licensing deal with Nickelodeon to bring Dora the Explorer personalized DVDs to retail.
The unique disks, produced by PixFusion Studios, will be sold at more than 600 Sears Portrait Studio stores throughout the US.
Starting in April, customers who bring their kids to Sears for a photography session can also purchase the DVD for US$40. The photo studio will then digitally insert the child’s snaps into the disk’s content, and lo and behold, little Janie or Johnny becomes the star of the show. The Dora product line joins other Digikidz DVDs featuring Spider-Man and Arthur.
