Australian kids should prepare for a close encounter of the third kind next year now that ABC-TV has acquired Alien Clones From Outer Space from SupperTime Entertainment and Telescreen BV in the Netherlands.

The pubcaster picked up the 52 x 11-minute 2-D animated series, and has it pencilled in for a fall 2008 premiere.

Based on a book series by comedy writer H.B. Homzie, Alien Clones revolves around twins Barton and Nancy Jamison, who discover they have alien doppelgangers that walk this planet.
