• Anne Gates is stepping into a newly created position as EVP and MD of Disney Consumer Products Europe. Working out of London headquarters, Gates is overseeing all DCP merchandise licensing, retail, sales and marketing in Europe. She’ll also have responsibility for coordinating activity with Disney Store Europe.

Gates joined Disney in 1992 and has spent the past 15 years steadily moving up the corporate ranks; she was most recently EVP of DCP, overseeing accounting and financing functions.

• Vancouver, Canada-based Studio B Productions has named Anthony Jiwa as the new director of marketing and Kirsten Newlands as head of production. Before joining Studio B, Jiwa was director of marketing at San Francisco’s Viz Media, while Newlands previously worked as a producer on Jetix’s Pucca at the prodco.

• Denver, Colorado-based Starz Media has named VP of business affairs and production Marc Barson as its new deputy general counsel.
