French film company Pathé Live has introduced Pathé Live Kids, a new initiative that will screen exclusive children’s content in European theaters.

Recordings of performances of stage shows like T’choupi and TroTro are currently in cinemas across France, Switzerland and Belgium as part of the initiative. Content from hit TV series including Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder and Masha and the Bear (pictured) will hit big screens in 2017, accompanied by affordable ticket prices, brighter lighting, an intermission and child-friendly sound levels.

Pathé Live Kids will see six new episodes of Masha and the Bear screened for audiences, brought together in a feature-length show. Each episode will be introduced by a presenter and is exclusive to Pathé Live in France, French Switzerland and Sweden.

Masha and the Bear opened in cinemas across Sweden last week. Pathé Live is also holding screenings in France, Switzerland, Benelux and Scandinavia over the next six months, with the intention to eventually introduce the format to the rest of Europe.

Also in 2017, both Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam will premiere hour-long features through the initiative: Bob the Builder: Mega Machines and Fireman Sam: Alien Alert. All of the content from Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam is exclusive to Pathé Live in France, Switzerland and Belgium.

Pathé Live is a fully owned subsidiary of the Gaumont Pathé group.
