HOLA signs two prodcos looking to make a LatAm splash
Taffy Entertainment and Breakthrough Films have hooked up with new representation south of the border…and it’s not a Latin American company. Based out of Montreal, Canada, HOLA Entertainment is headed up by Mercedes Alvarez, a former Latin American sales exec for Cinar. Alvarez racks up a lot of air miles making three to four trips a year to Latin America to push programming for Alphanim, Seville Pictures, WGBH and CinéGroupe in the region’s 21 territories. HOLA will also now rep Pet Alien, Jakers! and ToddWorld for Taffy, and Breakthrough has pegged her to sell Atomic Betty, including an upcoming Christmas special.
