  • China’s UYoung has acquired Tulipop Tales (52 x seven minutes, pictured above), joining other recent buyers HappyKids, Encore and Dreamscape. • Banijay Kids & Family has signed LIT Licensing to represent Mr. Bean in the Nordics. Wasting no time, the agency has already locked down a first deal with Hybris to develop an apparel collection based on the 35-year-old IP. In other recent brand activity, a Mr. Bean café experience will open in Malaysia as part of a deal brokered by the brand’s agent in Asia, IMG Licensing.

Featuring Talking Tom characters with a superhero look, the toy line will launch regionally sometime next year, shortly after the series rolls out on CBeebies later this quarter.

  • Hoho Rights is expanding its third-party distribution library with some new documentary and drama content. The company has added Where the Wild Geese Go, an RTE-commissioned kid-friendly wildlife doc produced by Ireland’s EZ Films. And for older teens, it has picked up Mandy and the Forces of Evil—a live-action show about a demon-slaying girl made by Caligari Film and Samsara Film for Amazon Prime Germany.

  • London’s Media I.M. has come on board to sell CG-animated preschool series Zola and Friends (26 x 11 minutes) globally. WordSword Creations in New Delhi and Canada’s Double Dot Studios produce this toon about a white rhino who has fun with her animal besties in the Serengeti.

  • Primrose Schools, which operates education and childcare centers across the US, has launched a YouTube channel developed in partnership with Moonbug Entertainment. Primrose will roll out original songs and educational content featuring puppet characters known as the Primrose Friends—who have been used in the schools’ learning program.
