- Building on its recent co-master toy deal with Netflix for KPop Demon Hunters, Hasbro is now stepping into the Upside Down to create a Stranger Things-branded Transformers collab. This Target-exclusive figure sees the series’ iconic WSQK van transform into a new character from Cybertron named Freakwency (pictured), which will roll out across North America next June. Hasbro has done similar Transformers figure collabs with Universal (Dracula and Frankenstein), SEGA (Sonic the Hedgehog), VIZ (Naruto) and Disney (Star Wars).
- Rovio Entertainment has tapped Finnish manufacturer Dolea to produce a line of Angry Birds-branded sustainable paper straws later this year. The Angry Birds franchise has a long history of taking part in green initiatives, including launching multiple Earth Day activations to reduce plastic use, and partnering with the United Nations on an Angry Birds Happy Planet campaign in 2016.
