Canada’s ICON Creative Studio has tapped Munich-based Global Constellation to distribute its upcoming CG-animated family film Dragoons worldwide, starting with a market introduction at EFM (February 12 to 18 in Berlin). The 90-minute pic revolves around an overlooked dragon who gets turned into a mighty dragon and sets out to save the victims of an evil wizard. Shea Wageman, who directed Charlie the Wonderdog (also distributed by Global Constellation), is directing Dragoons, which is in production and scheduled for completion in Q4 2027.

Surge Brands signs Crazy Aaron’s first licensing partners

The sensory play company’s putty and slime products (pictured) are about to move into toys (Brand Partners Group), publishing (Highlights) and kids bath & beauty (Townley Girl), thanks to a first round of licensing deals brokered by Surge. Last month, Dutch game manufacturer Goliath acquired Crazy Aaron’s, which continues to operate as a separate division based in Philadelphia.

Oni Press taps Penguin Random House for distribution

The graphic novel and comics publisher behind the Quinnelope and Frankie middle-grade series and an upcoming Archie Comics revamp has signed a multi-year distribution partnership with Penguin Random House Publisher Services. Oni used to depend on Diamond Comic Distributors to get its titles out, but it suspended this partnership in June. Penguin Random House’s sales division, which will now handle Oni’s entire catalogue worldwide, has plans to highlight these titles in a monthly catalogue for buyers.
