Spin Master was the belle of the ball at Friday’s 26th-annual Toy of the Year Awards ceremony celebrating 2025’s best toys, games and children’s entertainment properties at New York’s Pier 60. The Toronto-based company won Toy of the Year and Action Figure of the Year with its licensed Jurassic World Primal Hatch T-Rex product (pictured).

BBC Studios’ Bluey was named Top License of the Year for a third consecutive year, beating out Jazwares (Squishmallows), Spin Master (Ms. Rachel), The Pokémon Company International and Disney (Stitch). And the blue heeler pup’s master toy partner Moose Toys took home Playset of the Year with its Bluey Let’s Play Chef Supermarket SKU.

Despite racking up 11 nominations on the TOTYs’ 16-category shortlist, Mattel only walked away with one win for Doll of the Year with its American Girl Disney Moana Collection. Hot Wheels is always a strong contender for Vehicle of the Year, but this year that honor went to the BRIO World Pull Back Train Set by Ravensburger North America. 

Besides Spin Master, The LEGO Group was the only other nominee to win multiple awards, snapping up Kidult Toy of the Year (LEGO Game Boy) and Construction Toy of the Year (LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex). 

The Pokémon Company International lost in the Collectible of the Year category to ZB Designs’ Wigglitz 3D-printed micro-collectibles, but made up for it by winning the People’s Choice Award with its Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Box.
