The Cannes Film Festival is returning this week, with its latest edition running from May 12 to May 23.

Alongside the festival and its packed schedule of conferences, panels and networking events, the film market—or the Marché du Film—is gearing up for another busy year of deal-making. And as previously announced, five animated features have been selected to take the spotlight in the market’s Annecy Animation Showcase.

Here are some of the other kids projects for international buyers to look out for at the market.

Christmas Inc.
This holiday feature follows an elf assistant who’s sent on a mission to shut down the world’s last traditional toy workshop, but has a change of heart. Christmas Inc. is the second film from Cantilever Media and Architect’s joint-venture to co-sell animated family movies. The former is being produced with ReDefine Originals and Moonshot Films (which developed the project).

Dino Alert – The Ogglies Strike Back
Studio 100 Film is shopping this time-travel dino comedy (pictured), which is already slated for a Germany release by LEONINE next year. A sequel to the 2021 pic Ogglies – Welcome to Smelliville, the new film will see the Ogglies head back in time to Dinoland to save a baby T-rex. Gretels Gold is producing the pic, with DenverMP and ZDF on board as co-producers.

Felix the Brave
Sales agent Sola Media is repping this movie about a flea raised in a family of rhinoceros beetles who must go on an epic quest to find a mythical Beetle Queen who can help restore peace. An exclusive teaser will drop at Cannes. Little Dream Entertainment and Amour Fou are producing with Red Parrot Studios, and the film is expected to deliver in late 2027.

Critterz
AGC Studios recently launched sales for this controversial, AI-generated feature from Native Foreign and Vertigo Films. Based on an existing 2023 short film produced by Native Foreign, the movie is about a woodland creature looking for her long-lost brother—with footage being previewed for the first time in Cannes.

I, Chihuahua
Rocket Science will be at Cannes to launch worldwide sales for this film from director Jorge R. Gutiérrez (Maya and the Three), who revived the project after it was shelved by Netflix. The premise is about a literal underdog named Chacho and honors the Lucha Libre wrestling culture of Mexico. Gutiérrez is producing the film alongside Dan Dixon and Paul Schleicher (Snafu Pictures) while Alex Garcia Najera is an EP.

Canine Royale
This CG-animated spy comedy film will host its avant première at the Cannes Film Market.  House of Film recently picked up distribution rights for this feature, which is about a canine spy and a glamorous poodle actress who find themselves in an action-packed investigation after a priceless Pink Diamond dog collar is stolen.

Winner
Distribution company Pink Parrot Media is leading sales for this tennis-focused film produced by Paratha Entertainment and the Rafa Nadal Foundation (which was launched by legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal). The film is due out in 2028 and follows a tween girl who must train to beat the country’s top junior tennis player.
