UK board game manufacturer Goliath has joined forces with American prodco Keller/Noll to adapt its game Shark Bite into a family-friendly gameshow that will be ready to air in 2026.
Keller/Noll will produce the series (which borrows very little from the original board game) with Perfect Game. Their concept will see five pairs of contestants battling it out to win US$100,000 by answering trivia questions. And if they get anything wrong, they’ll face the jaws of a 20-foot animatronic shark. The show features five such sharks, each with its own name and personality—making the jaws the stars of the show.
Meanwhile, both editions of the board game published by Goliath require players to use fishing rods to steal the most fish out of a shark’s mouth before it closes.
The project doesn’t have a broadcaster or streamer attached yet, but Keller/Noll and Perfect Game are pitching it to potential buyers for a 2026 launch. All told, Keller/Noll has sold more than 70 game shows to networks and has produced hits such as Chopped (Food Network), America Says (Game Show Network) and Flip Side (Game Show Network).
Shark Bite is just the latest of several family board games to be turned into TV shows in recent years, following Netflix ordering three seasons of Floor is Lava (2020-2023) and Mattel teaming up with CBS Media for three seasons of Pictionary (2022-2025). Floor is Lava came out of the gate as a surprise hit, standing tall as Netflix’s most-viewed show for 24 days straight when it launched in June 2020. And Pictionary was picked up by all Fox-owned stations before it even hit the air in 2022.
