- Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have teamed up to create the world’s first LEGO Harry Potter land, as well as the first Harry Potter-themed accommodations at LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort. This will be the first time LEGO and Harry Potter are coming together in a location-based setting. There are no specific details available on what the area will look like, but more information will be announced in the next 12 months, according to Merlin.
- WildBrain CPLG has signed new licensing deals for two Dr. Seuss Enterprises brands. As part of an early L&M push for next November’s The Cat in the Hat animated feature film, Aykroyds & TDP Licensing (daywear), 8th Wonder (kids chairs), Craft Buddy (arts & crafts) and Dreamtex (bedding) have joined the program and will roll out products next year. Meanwhile The Grinch—always a popular brand during the holidays—has new partners in Primark (nightwear and homewear in the UK) and Lidl (apparel and plush in Europe) this year, and Takko has also joined as a direct-to-retail partner for Germany, Austria and Switzerland in fall 2026.
- Are you ready, kids? Burger King has teamed up with Paramount to offer a SpongeBob-themed menu ahead of the December 19 premiere of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. For a limited time, items such as SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper and Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie will be available in restaurants across the US and Canada. Burger King and Paramount are also running a two-day co-branded pop-up experience in Miami from December 6 to 7.
- Playmobil has become an official licensee of the German pro football league DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga). A collection of figures featuring players from all 18 of the league’s clubs (198 licensed players total) will roll out during the league’s 2026/2027 season, after an early run of a few fan-favorites comes out in March. The league reported record ticket sales for the first half of its 2024/2025 season with more than 10 million sold.
