RAI Kids boards Grisù season 2
Mondo TV Group has presold the second season of its CG-animated preschool toon Grisù (52 x 11 minutes, pictured) to the Italian pubcaster. It’s expected to deliver by the end of 2027. In 2021, RAI Kids backed season one, which has since been sold into more than 150 countries.
Bluey welcomes a new toy partner
Funko has acquired a Bluey license from BBC Studios and will roll out its first range of vinyl Pop! Figures for the IP to retailers worldwide in July. Other preschool properties in the toyco’s portfolio include Blue’s Clues, Gumby, Sesame Street and Care Bears.
WBD unveils more Wizarding World fan experiences
Warner Bros. Discovery is kicking off its 25th-anniversary celebrations for the Harry Potter film franchise with Butterbeer Season. Trucks will tour across North America from March to May, serving up limited-edition Butterbeer brews and selling exclusive merch. July 31 is Harry’s birthday, and Spin Master, MGA, Jazwares, Hallmark and Loungefly are all rolling out new products at Harry Potter Shops worldwide to celebrate. And the festivities will reach their peak in August, with a Back to Hogwarts campaign that’s still shrouded in mystery for now.
LAIKA secures two distributors for Wildwood
Fathom Entertainment (US) and FilmNation Entertainment (rest of world) have come on board to handle theatrical distribution for this stop-motion fantasy film based on a same-name 2011 novel written by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis. The story revolves around a young girl named Prue, who goes on a quest in a magical forest to save her kidnapped baby brother.
