DEALS: PhatMojo picks up toy rights to Roblox’s top game

Plus, Miraculous and Talking Tom are expanding their gaming collab into consumer products, and Rainbow Designs launches a Care Bears baby product range in the UK.

PhatMojo inks a lead toy deal for Steal a Brainrot

The LA-based toyco has secured global toy rights to the Roblox game from its developers, Do Big Studios and Spyder Games, in a deal brokered by Think Influence. PhatMojo plans to translate Brainrot‘s game mechanics of buying and stealing different voxel characters into a tradeable collectibles line that will roll out to retailers across North America in Q3. Since launching in May 2025, Brainrot has become one of Roblox’s most popular experiences, sitting at more than 55 billion plays and an all-time peak player count of 25.8 million. 

 

Taking things offline

Following the announcement of a year-long collab in July, Miraculous Corp and Outfit7 have launched co-branded print-on-demand apparel for Miraculous and Talking Tom & Friends on Spreadshirt. According to a release, this brand crossover initiative has already reached more than 400 million people worldwide with Talking Tom Hero Dash and the Roblox experience Miraculous RP: Ladybug & Cat Noir.

 

Rainbow Designs is producing Care Bears baby merch

The UK-based toyco has picked up a toy license from Cloudco Entertainment, which it will leverage nto a collection of products for infants. The Care Bears Baby range is due to roll out to UK retailers this fall, featuring plush and ring rattles based on Cheer Bear, Funshine Bear and Bedtime Bear. 

 

Xilam dives into presales for Submarine Jim

New broadcast partners for the French studio’s upcoming 2D-animated comedy series (52 x 11 minutes) include the BBC (UK and Ireland), RTS (French-Switzerland), RTBF and VRT (Belgium), NPO (Netherlands), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), Noga (Israel) and Warner Bros. Discovery (EMEA, Latin America, Southeast Asia and South Korea). Submarine Jim is expected to deliver in June and has already been sold to France Télévisions and Super RTL. 

 

Papercutz teams up with Disney for educational graphic novels

The Mad Cave Studios imprint is collaborating with Disney and Pixar to create a Disney Science in Comics line of graphic novels for kids. The first of four announced volumes, Age of the Dinosaurs, will hit shelves on May 26.  

 

Tokyopop negotiates a deal with Crunchyroll 

The US manga publisher has added anime series Spy x Family to its licensing portfolio, creating a line of six branded SKUs (a paper craft kit, three activity books, a board game and secret scratch cards) that will roll out to specialty retailers throughout 2026.
