DEALS: Globo, Super RTL and others pick up Gangnam Project

Plus, Pinkfong's Bebefinn movie has secured a Japanese distributor, while a British retailer has opened a permanent Marvel and Star Wars area in its flagship store.

Gangnam Project (pictured) takes to the stage with more sales 

Federation Kids & Family has signed new deals for the two-season 20 x 30-minute live-action series. Globo (Brazil) has picked up season one, while Super RTL (Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland), ABC Australia and NRK (Norway) have acquired season two (after previously airing season one). Dreamia (Portugal) and EITB (Spain) acquired seasons one and two of the tween show. The series from Pillango Productions and Aircraft Pictures is about a Canadian/Korean teen who trains to be a K-pop idol at an elite school.

Kadokawa secures Bebefinn the Movie theatrical release 

Bebefinn owner The Pinkfong Company has inked an agreement with Japan’s Kadokawa to distribute the new film Bebefinn the Movie: The Missing Bebefinn and the Pinkfong Adventure in Japan. Kadokawa has lined up deals to screen the film in 100 theaters across Japan starting on September 4. Supporting the release, Pinkfong teamed up with Japanese bookstore Tsutaya Books to launch Pinkfong pop-up stores in three cities from April 17 to May 10. Pinkfong previously released the film in Korea in July 2025, where it drew 220,000 viewers, and it’s since debuted in 11 countries, including the UK and Australia.

Pink Parrot Media to distribute CG-animated film Winner 

The distributor has inked a deal to handle worldwide sales (excluding Spain and India) for Paratha Entertainment and Rafa Nadal Foundation’s comedy-adventure feature film. The film, inspired by the story of Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal, focuses on a 12-year-old girl who trains for a national tennis tournament. Jaime Maestro (Animal Crackers) is writing and directing the film. Pink Parrot Media will introduce the project to market at Cannes this year.

A British retailer is opening a permanent Marvel and Star Wars zone 

The toy store Hamleys is opening an area dedicated to two of the biggest family-friendly franchises in its London flagship location starting today. The “Fan Zone” for Marvel and Stars features photo-op spots and ranges of toys for both of the mega-brands. This permanent spot is timed around the launch of the upcoming film The Mandalorian & Grogu on May 22, and ahead of Star Wars Day (May 4).

Pluto TV chases nostalgia viewing with Nickelodeon shows 

The AVOD has added live-action Nick shows including Zoey 101, Kenan & Kel, iCarly and Sam & Cat to the on-demand section of its platform to attract the millennial and Gen Z viewers who grew up with these series. The free streamer already carries Nickelodeon programming, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
